SoftU2F-Win
A software U2F authenticator for Windows
SoftU2F-Win emulates a hardware U2F HID device on Windows and performs its cryptographic operations through DPAPI, so a security key lives in software instead of on your keyring. It runs in the background and asks you to accept or reject each registration and authentication request.

Features
What SoftU2F-Win does
A key in software
Emulates a hardware U2F HID device, so U2F-compatible sites in Chrome see an ordinary security key.
Keys protected by DPAPI
Key pairs are stored through the Windows Data Protection API, the same mechanism Windows uses for passwords and connection strings.
You approve every request
The daemon runs in the background and notifies you to accept or reject each registration and authentication attempt.
A port you can audit
A port of GitHub's SoftU2F for macOS, with the driver and daemon both open source. Report vulnerabilities to [email protected].
